Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Help Identifying Recent Car Burglars
Just because we live in Deep East Texas, outside of major metropolitan areas, doesn't mean that we're immune from crimes like car burglaries. Based on some news from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, it seems that there have been several burglaries recently.
Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office Looking into Multiple Car Burglaries
According to a Facebook post from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, since May 14th there have been several car burglaries take place throughout Nacogdoches County. Those are listed below:
- May 14-15: North Fork Estates, County Road 2091. Suspects went through eight vehicles, one gun is missing.
- May 17-18: Melrose, Highway 21 East, County Road 411. Eight vehicles burglarized, one gun and multiple vehicle key fobs were stolen.
- May 18-19: County Road 826. Three vehicles burglarized, one pistol magazine stolen.
In addition to these there were also a couple of other instances of burglaries, but the suspects have been identified and/or arrested. One was in the Ponderosa Subdivision on May 16-17. According to the NCSO, several suspects were identified and some of the property was recovered. In this instance, the "suspects are not believed to be involved with the other car burglaries in the county." The other was in the City of Nacogdoches, but according to the same Facebook post, Nacogdoches Police Department have made an arrest in connection with burglaries. The suspects in these cases were not connected with the county burglary cases.
Like I said earlier, just because we live away from major metropolitan areas doesn't mean that these things don't happen. According to the NCSO, only one of the vehicles that was burglarized was forcibly broken into. The rest were unlocked. Be sure to lock your cars and don't leave any valuables in them, regardless of whether they're locked or not.
