Public Meeting in Nacogdoches to Discuss Hazard Mitigation Action Plan on June 24th
Texas, being as big as it is, experiences the largest number of disasters in the nation. That's just a fact of life. One thing that we understand in Texas is natural and man-made disasters. Whether it's storms, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, etc. we know that we have to constantly prepare for those disasters. The City of Nacogdoches and Nacogdoches County officials are preparing for a public meeting to get community input that could help better prepare for these things.
Nacogdoches Hazard Mitigation Action Plan Public Meeting on June 24th
Officials from Nacogdoches County, as well as Nacogdoches city officials are in the process of updating the Hazard Mitigation Action Plan (HMAP). This plan helps address not only natural disasters that affect our area, but man-made disasters as well. They will be holding a public meeting in order to receive community feedback that will be used to update the HMAP. It will be held on Wednesday, June 24th at 5:30 PM at the Nacogdoches Recreation Center, located at 1112 North Street in Nacogdoches.
This meeting will give community members the opportunity to not only get an HMAP project overview but will also allow them to give input about areas in the community that could be affected by natural hazards and to discuss possible solutions to those hazards.
If you're a resident of Nacogdoches County, they also have provided a survey for you to take to give your input. It can be found at https://tinyurl.com/NacogdochesHMAP.
