Methamphetamine with a street value of more than $8,500 was among the items recovered by law enforcement officers with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office while recently serving a warrant at a home just outside the West Loop in Nacogdoches. Two Nacogdoches residents are now facing felony and misdemeanor charges as the result of a Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office investigation.

Otis Dale Solomon, 61, and Pamela Kay Stotts, 56, were taken into custody on Wednesday, August 24, in a joint operation by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety narcotics investigators.

Solomon is charged with two first-degree felonies for the manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony for possession of a controlled substance, one third-degree felony for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and a Class-B misdemeanor for the possession of marijuana.

Stotts faces a first-degree felony for possession of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony for the unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and a Class B misdemeanor for possession of marijuana.

Both were taken into custody when the sheriff’s office and DPS investigators served a search warrant on their address in the 300 block of Evans Road. Inside the home, investigators recovered more than 14 ounces of marijuana, cash, methamphetamine, and other drugs, which have been sent to a state laboratory for testing.

Property recovered at the scene is also believed to be related to theft and burglary cases in Nacogdoches and other counties as well. The case is still under investigation, and other charges are possible against Solomon and Stotts.

If convicted, each of the first-degree felony charges carries a potential punishment of between five and 99 years of incarceration, while third-degree felonies are punishable by between two and 10 years of incarceration. The charges also carry a potential fine of up to $10,000.
