Picnic in the Park is Your Chance to Meet the Heroes Keeping Nacogdoches Safe

There's no doubt that we are going into full-swing with celebrations and events for America's 250th. It seems like every town in our area is doing something special to celebrate. There's one new event that's coming up in Nacogdoches that caught my eye, though.

Picnic in the Park is Coming Up on July 2nd

The Nacogdoches Parks and Recreation Department and the Nacogdoches Law Enforcement Foundation have teamed up to bring an event to the Nacogdoches community called Picnic in the Park.

This is an event that's sponsored by Eaton, and will take place on Thursday, July 2nd from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Banita Creek Park, located at 439 Pearl Street in Nacogdoches. This isn't just a time to meet up, have hotdogs, play games, get some cool giveaways - although all of those things will be happening. This is also the chance for community members to sit down and have lunch with the members of the Nacogdoches Police and Fire Departments.

Lots of places don't have the opportunity to get to know their local heroes. Whether it's because the size of the community is too big, whether the departments just don't do community activities, or some other reason, they just don't have the opportunity. However, with this event in Nacogdoches, it's showing that the city and its departments are making sure that the community is looked after and is involved.

Picnic in the Park is a really cool way to meet and greet the local first responders, and a really cool way to kick off the July 4th / America 250 festivities. Remember, it's happening on July 2nd at 11:00 AM in Banita Creek Park.
