If you've kept up with this page, you've probably seen the Nacogdoches Police Department's Pet of the Week posts. If you're not familiar with it, that's when an officer from NPD goes to the Humane Society of Nacogdoches County Animal Shelter, and chooses one of the pets that's up for adoption to feature on their Facebook page. Last week, you may have noticed that we didn't have a post for the Pet of the Week. No, you didn't just skip over it, or miss it somewhere. There wasn't a featured pet last week. However, this week, they're back!

Here's the latest post:

Hello Nacogdoches! Officer Birdwell stopped by the Animal Shelter to try and help another one of our furry friends find...

Posted by Nacogdoches Police Department on Monday, July 20, 2020

As you can see, the latest animal that was featured by NPD and looking for a forever home is Martha. She's a three-month-old labrador and pit mix. So, obviously, she's a puppy, and will need the attention that you would give to a young puppy. She's also been at the animal shelter since April, so she's been waiting a few months on an adoption.

As always, if you are approved for the adoption of a Pet of the Week, you'll get a voucher from the Humane Society that will cover all of the spay/neuter costs at the local vet offices, plus the rabies vaccinations.

If you're looking for a new pet, you may want to go meet Martha in person at the animal shelter. Adoption times are from noon to 6:00.
