Classic rock group Nazareth has had two defining songs in their career, "Love Hurts" which peaked at #8 on the Billboard Top 40 in 1975, and "Hair of the Dog" in that same year, which dominated Album Oriented Rock (AOR) airwaves.

Tuesday night, north of the border, Dan McCafferty did what he's been doing for six decades as lead singer for Nazareth.  Giving the audience a rare taste of his golden throat.

The 66 year-old was about midway into the first tune when he suddenly collapsed on stage.  He was then dragged behind the curtain for medical attention, and reports are good from a British Columbia hospital where McCafferty is listed in stable condition.

The band is scheduled to tour the United States soon, and at press time there are no updates on the groups website indicating anything is amiss.

It's been 35 plus years since I saw Nazareth perform live, and I believe the opening act was Edgar Winter...or, maybe it was The Baby's...or, could have been...Golden Earring?

Get well Dan!
