Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘Under the Graveyard’ Rises to No. 1 on Rock Chart
It's been an exciting past month for Ozzy Osbourne. Now that the legend is getting back into the swing of things with new music, rock listeners across the U.S. are responding. This week, Osbourne's "Under the Graveyard" hit the No. 1 position on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart.
Issued five weeks ago, "Under the Graveyard" was the first new song from the "Prince of Darkness" in nine years. Similarly, it's Osbourne's first No. 1 Mainstream Rock Song in a decade. The Andrew Watt-produced tune first landed at No. 4 upon release in November, rising to the top position this week.
It was followed by the Slash-aided "Straight to Hell," the second single from Osbourne's forthcoming Ordinary Man album. Currently, that track sits at No. 27 on the same chart. Ordinary Man is due out early next year. The career-spanning See You on the Other Side box set arrived last month.
But following a pesky injury and rescheduled tour dates, it's certainly good to see Osbourne back on top. This week's chart ascension of "Under the Graveyard" makes it the third Mainstream Rock chart-topper for the musician overall. The song has also racked up 5.4 million streams worldwide.
How fortuitous that Osbourne hooked up with Post Malone earlier this year. After all, the partnership led to "Under the Graveyard" producer Watt, a frequent Posty collaborator, working with Ozzy on his track. It may be cold in the graveyard, but things are heating up for the former Black Sabbath singer.
