Randy Blythe Rips Donald Trump’s ‘Sociopathic Behavior’
Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe is not one to shy away from discussing politics, social and environmental issues. He recently shared his opinion of President Donald Trump and how his administration has affecteded how Americans are viewed overseas.
In an interview with Metal Hammer (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), Blythe says, “You couldn’t dream up what we’re reading right now. It’s like, porn and Russia and backstabbing lawyers and trust-fund kids gone wrong.” He continues, “Trump’s style is calculated. Some people are like, ‘He’s just a madman,’ but when something weird happens that comes close to nailing his ass, he suddenly throws something else. It’s strange, calculated and highly sociopathic behavior.”
While Blythe has not toured overseas since Trump took office, he has spoken to friends who played some dates in Russia recently. He said, “It’s brutal. When you show up with an American passport, they laugh at you going through customs, and in Moscow they had t-shirts that had an illustration of (Russian President Vladimir) Putin walking Trump on a leash, like a dog.”
The vocalist continues, “We were touring overseas before Trump got elected and people were constantly asking, ‘What are you going to do if he gets elected?’ Everybody was like, ‘That’s not going to happen,’ and oh, how wrong we were.”
In an interview with Yahoo! last year, Blythe called Trump an “infuriated orange bowl of sherbet.” He added, “The way he got elected with this blitzkrieg of napalm across the misanthropic synapsis of middle America is kind of genius. We’re going to make America great again? Whatever. It means nothing. I never thought America was bad in the first place. But he instilled a massive amount of fear and then said, ‘I am the Messiah. So, you know, when America doesn’t become great again, what’s gonna happen?”
Lamb of God will get a chance to tour overseas during the Trump administration when they kick off their European tour with Anthrax, Slayer and Obituary on Nov. 1 in Dublin, Ireland. See all their tour dates here.
