Let me guess....this was a guy who bought the Superman relic. Most girls just don't get it. We apologize for the deer in the headlights look when it comes to comic book collectin' fellas.

HOW much did the rare Superman comic book bring? It has some history - previously owned by Nicholas Cage and stolen from his collection at one point.

The extremely rare 1938 piece depicted the debut of Superman and was sold at auction for $2.161 million. According to ComicConnect, the site that ran the auction, said the winning bidder was anonymous. The same issue previously set a record when it was sold in 2010 for $1.5 million.

The book reportedly went missing for a lengthy spell until it turned up in a stack of magazines uncovered in a storage locker near Los Angeles, California. It was still in mint condition. The person who found the comic had purchased the contents of the locker sight-unseen.

Score!
