Rob Zombie’s newest film, 3 From Hell, has been given its rating from the MPAA… and good news… it’s been slapped with an R.

PG-13 and Rob Zombie films don’t quite go together, so an R rating is the best we could hope for. Zombie’s 2016 flick, 31, was hit with an NC-17 rating, crippling the film’s reach and forbidding individuals under 17 from watching the movie, even if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

“Well, after two tries through the MPAA our rating on 31 remains NC-17. Maybe three is the charm to get an R rating. Why R you ask? Well, because your local theater will not show an NC-17. Even though you are a f---ing adult... things much be censored for your enjoyment,” Zombie posted on Facebook.

The R rating is a win for both Zombie and fans. 3 From Hell received an R for “strong sadistic violence, language throughout, sexual content, graphic nudity and drug use.” This will surely please Zombie film buffs, as will appearances from the three rejects themselves — Sid Haig, Sheri Moon Zombie and Bill Mosley. Machete legend Danny Trejo and comedian Tom Papa are also featured.

3 From Hell has yet to receive a release date. Fans can catch Rob Zombie on the road with Marilyn Manson this summer on their Twins of Evil II tour.
