Seether Perform ‘Broken’ With Letters From the Fire’s Alexa Kabazie in Pittsburgh
For those who know their Seether history, you're aware that the song "Broken" closed out their 2002 album Disclaimer, but didn't really take off as a radio single until the band re-recorded a version as a duet with Evanescence's Amy Lee singing opposite Shaun Morgan. While "Broken" has been part of Seether's sets in the years past, they haven't always had a female vocalist around to sing Lee's parts, but during a recent stop at Pittsburgh's Stage AE, Morgan had Alexa Kabazie from support band Letters From the Fire handle the vocals.
As you can hear in the posted video above, Kabazie does a solid job of stepping into the Lee role and giving it that haunting, emotional feel that connected so well with listeners upon its initial release. With a few more dates left on this leg and another leg planned between the two acts this summer, there is the possibility that more fans will get to see this collaboration.
Seether released their Poison the Parish album earlier this month, with the single "Let You Down" shooting to the top of the charts. Letters From the Fire are currently out supporting their 2016 album, Worth the Pain, which has already yielded the songs "Give In to Me" and the title track.
Letters From the Fire's current run with Seether is wrapping up over the next week, with the band moving on to open shows for Black Stone Cherry in June. After that, they'll reconnect with Seether in July for more dates. See their dates at this location. Meanwhile, Seether have a handful of June dates as well before continuing their touring with Letters From the Fire in July. See their shows here.
