Lumberjack Crossing Dorm Construction Now Registered as SFA Campus Grows
Changes are going on all the time in Nacogdoches. A bunch of those current changes are happening right now at Stephen F. Austin State University. You've got the building that will house the Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture, you've got the upcoming Arnold Center for Entrepreneurship, and now, a brand-new project has been registered and should be getting underway soon.
SFA Lumberjack Crossing Project Registered and Set to Begin Soon
According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the next project on the list from the SFA Campus Master Plan has been registered with the state and is set to get underway soon. The next building project is a new student housing facility called Lumberjack Crossing.

This new dorm is going to be located on Wilson Drive, next to the current Wilson Parking Garage. Up to this point, that space has been a paid-parking lot for the university. Now, it will be the location of Lumberjack Crossing.
According to the TDLR website, this project is going to cost over $56,000,000 dollars to build the new four-story facility, with construction set to begin on September 1st. That same construction is supposed to take just under two years to complete, with the completion date set for June 6, 2028. And, considering that construction fencing has already been moved over there to that space, it seems that they'll be right on schedule.

Take a look:

That fencing is blocking off the parking area that's in between the Wilson Parking Garage and the new cafeteria on the corner of Wilson Drive and East College Street.
You know me, I get pretty excited to see changes take place, especially on the SFA campus. I'll do my best to keep you updated with the progress as it takes shape.
