Did You Know You Can Get Free Tickets to SFA Athletic Events?
If you're a sports person like I am, you enjoy going to the game. And when I say "the game" I mean any game really. Basketball, baseball, football, soccer, you name it. It's just fun to attend sporting events in-person. That's why it's cool to be in Nacogdoches, where there's a state university.
Now, tickets to the Stephen F. Austin State University athletics events won't break the bank. Ticket prices range depending on what sport you want to go see, and - obviously - where you want to sit. But, for your average, run-of-the-mill seat at say...a men's basketball game...You'll find tickets around $10 to $15 each. Not bad, right? Especially for a collegiate matchup.

You know what's better than $10 tickets? Free. There are actually a couple of ways that you can score free tickets for sporting events.
SFA Faculty and Staff Comp Tickets
In my mind, it just kind of makes sense that SFA faculty and staff would get tickets to the games. Whether it's a professor that teaches students, or a staff member that works in a supporting role at the university, I think it'd be pretty fair to give them tickets to the sporting events.
Faculty and staff members can show up to the ticket booth on gameday, or can request their tickets online, and pick them up on gameday.
Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Members
The other group that can take advantage of free SFA tickets are Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Members. Texas Farm Bureau is one of the big sponsors of the SFA athletics program, and one of their promotions each year is to give free tickets for their members.
It works the same way as the faculty and staff tickets. The members can get their tickets at the ticket booth that day, or can request them online prior to gameday and then pick them up.
Both groups can get tickets for football games, men's and women's basketball games, soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball. As an SFA alumnus AND a sports fan, I think it's a pretty cool deal.
