SFA Students Set Off For Spring Break While Nacogdoches Quiets
This is one of those times during the year that the locals in Nacogdoches wait for. Some of the people literally put it on their calendar and have countdowns for. It's almost - ALMOST - like an entire week of holidays. That week is Spring Break.
SFA Spring Break is March 9th - March 13th
The students at Stephen F. Austin State University are out on their annual Spring Break vacation from March 9th through the 13th. Some are actually going on vacations to the beach or the mountains. Some are going with their church groups on mission trips. Some are going back home for the week. Very few are staying in Nacogdoches for the break.

For a week, basically the entire university - with the exception of some faculty and staff that will be working - will be closed down.
What Spring Break Means for the Nacogdoches Locals
Anyone that has lived in Nacogdoches for more than a year and has seen Spring Break come and go knows that this week is one where the entire town changes up. They're able to drive on North Street without the Nac traffic buildup. Grocery shopping can be done without tons of extra people in the aisles. Waiting lines at Nacogdoches restaurants will be much shorter, if not non-existent.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the SFA students - if I wasn't I wouldn't still be hanging around, right? However, it is nice to have a bit of a population break every now and then, and Spring Break is one of those times. Don't worry, after a week, it's always nice to have things come right back to "normal", with the return of students, university life and everything in between.
