I can't remember the last time that the Lufkin Towne Square Four was open. I don't remember ever going to see a movie in it. I remember going to the movie theater in the mall, and I remember when the other theater opened as the "Starplex" ("Star Plex"...?). But, I just can't remember the Towne Square Four...

If you aren't sure which property I'm referring to when I mention the Towne Square Four, here's what it looks like today:

Regardless of how long that particular piece of property has been vacant, it's about time for someone to do something with it, right? I will say this: I haven't been inside, so I'm not sure about what kind of renovation and maintenance needs to be done to make it a profitable piece of property again. But, I feel like if someone with a good business sense could really turn this place around.

It could be another movie theater. Perhaps they could make it into an arcade. Or, for a bigger thought, someone with a lot of gusto could look into making it into a - rather large - restaurant of some kind...I could go on and on with different possibilities.

My point is this: I think it's about time someone take it over and make it new again. Let's be honest, no one is a big fan of vacant buildings in the area. We want to see business grow and thrive. So, if you a "go-getter" type of person, maybe this is your chance!

What are your thoughts on the old Towne Square Four? Do you have any thoughts on what it could be? Or, are you just good with letting it sit as is? Let us know in the comments below!
