Stryper fans moved quickly to help guitarist Oz Fox, who suffered a seizure onstage with his side-project band over the weekend.

Fox, who has no medical insurance, is the subject of a new GoFundMe campaign with a target of $100,000, which managed to secure $10,000 in its first nine hours.

“While performing onstage in Las Vegas, on Aug.12, 2018, at approximately 12:30AM,  Oz Fox had a seizure onstage,” his wife Annie Lobert wrote on the campaign page. “He was taken to the hospital to stabilize his vitals and was given a CAT scan and MRI. Results showed that he had two masses in his head, one by his ear and the other in the back of his brain. The next day he was given a spinal tap. Results stated he had no infections in his spine, so now Oz will go under testing for brain surgery biopsies."

Lobert added that they "don’t know how much the brain biopsies will cost, nor what will happen when we get the results back – whether he will need more surgery to remove any tumors or treatment plans for healing. Oz cannot drive, fly or work for three months because of the potential seizures. … Anything that is given will go directly to the costs incurred to help to Oz and Annie with medical bills and supplement any income lost.”

“We’re all waiting to hear good news and we’re all praying deeply for that," Stryper frontman Michael Sweet said on his Facebook page. "We so appreciate your thoughts and prayers. The internet is a great place to rally people for support, and if there was ever a time for that, now is the time.”

Explaining that the band’s upcoming Australian tour couldn’t be canceled for contractual reasons, Sweet noted they got "Oz’s blessing." "Although it will not be the same at all without Oz, we did what we felt we had to do and we did it the best way we possibly could," he said. "The important thing right now is Oz’s health and well being. Please continue to pray for him at this time. Pray for Annie and his family as well.”

Stryper released their 10th album, God Damn Evil, earlier this year.
