Depression is serious and as we get into the holiday season individuals can easily find themselves suicidal including young adults.

According to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention the suicide rate for young adults have grown at record rates.

The rates between ages 10 to 24 has increased 56 percent between 2007 and 2017, and grew at an average of three percent per year between 2007 and 2013, and even grew to seven percent per year between 2013 and 2017.

Children between the ages of 10 to 14 is troubling because the suicide rate has tripled between 2007 to 2017 after the number declined for years and teens between 15 to 19 the number increased between 76 percent during that time span.

Another factor to look at is on social media as 45 percent of teens aged between 13 to 17 who use the internet on a consistent basis has been fueling a rise in mental illness per the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, where they say too much social media can cause loneliness, depression, and anxiety.
