East Texas has lots of places that draw tourists, and since we live here we should be checking them out too. We've got ideas about five great places to visit that you may have forgotten about.

This is not news to us that we have the best gas station in America right here in Texas. In fact, quite a few of the gas stations that we see on Texas road trips are among the best in the country, including Buc-ee's and the Quik Trip. And you can buy just about anything there.

Toys break and technology gets outdated, so if you're looking to give someone an experience gift this Christmas, take a road trip that includes these awesome East Texas towns.

Texas is full of unique restaurants, and this one is right up there near the top. At this East Texas spot you can get a burger layered up with double meat and dripping with cheese, and you can eat it inside an Airstream trailer that's sitting out back. Road trip on!

Some say pie-making is a lost art since not many of us take the time to do it from scratch these days. So, when we find pies that are ooey, gooey, flaky, and perfect, we must give the bakers some love. These are the best pies in Texas y'all. See if you agree.

More people than ever before will be hitting the road for this 4th of July weekend, and nobody wants it to be a boring trip. Beef jerky, kolaches, and fountain drinks with that soft round ice can make any trip better, and we feel compelled to give some love to the travel stops that make us happy.

We're spending a whole lot of money on expensive friends and family members and sig others this time of year, and now we hear gas prices are going up to impact our budgets.  But how much?

Gas prices are averaging just above two bucks a gallon in East Texas right now, and that's about fifty cents cheaper than it was on the 4th of July weekend last year. Road trip on! Even better news for drivers - gas prices are expected to dip under the two-dollar mark again this fall and they could crater at a level so low we'll be doing a double take.  So how low will they get?
