The name Big Red implies that it's straight out of Nebraska, right?  At least to us Husker alums who view all things though the football lens. Big Red soda is actually bottled in Texas, by the Dr. Pepper folks, and it was first born here in 1937. Did you know it used to be called "Sun Tang Big Red Cream Soda?"

This is prep week for the big Super Bowl Party February 5th, and we're all searching for the best recipes to impress our friends, and satisfy the big holes in our stomachs that need gooey, fattening foods. I have a confession to make.  I've never eaten a Peep in my life.  But they do look delicious, and I hear they are amazing in hot chocolate.  What else can you do with them?  And how many Peeps does it take to make a replica of Katy Perry's left shark...

Ready for the snacks and commercials?  Oh yeah, and football too next Sunday. I ran across some great recipes for snacks that are worth sharing so here ya go.

I love a good wine and cheese party, and since I'm such a snacker, I would much rather eat some kind of spread on a cracker than a huge meal. But booze on a cracker?  Like beer-flavored spread?  I'm not too sure about that.

We pigged out on Sunday. Pizza delivery drivers were so busy Sunday across East Texas they had no down time, and may have actually seen an increase in business because of the power outage that caused a 34-minute delay at the Superdome.  What did we have to do besides eat during that half hour? Chips and pretzels were a huge part of game day snacking too.  How many calories do you think you consume
