If you're planning a vacation to ski country, you might have to wait. Thanksgiving weekend is usually a big one for ski resorts, but most of them had to delay openings this year because of a lack of snow.
Some of the projected openings are in mid to late December now.
East Texas is about to have another round of wintery weather that includes ice and snow. We will be keeping a close eye on the system as it makes it's way through our listening area, and pass along any and all delays and closures of schools, businesses, or other organizations. This list will continually be updated as information is relayed to us.
TxDOT says Lufkin is part of a 9-county area that continues to see ice on bridges and overpasses. Angelina River bridges have seen icy patches today, and some roads have been closed.
So it's not white. It's a wet Christmas.
The rumbles of thunder make it seem more like April than December, and if you're traveling today expect the rain showers to continue through tonight. If you're traveling north, the chances of seeing snowflakes increase.
