A Lufkin area toddler was hospitalized after testing positive for THC, leading to the arrest of a caretaker.

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick has made banning THC products a priority, calling them a "poison" and referring to his ban as a "life and death" matter. He's not backing off on this hellbent pursuit of a total ban but the lower house diluted his proposed bill a little.

As Texas debates THC restrictions, some argue this legislation could harm small businesses rather than safeguard health.

In 2019 there was a bill passed that allowed for the commercialization of hemp that could include the un-removable non-intoxicating Delta 9 THC. Dan Patrick claims retailers made unregulated forms of THC available to the public.

Other substances were found, too--including a drug-infused liquid that that teenagers have been adding to soft drinks.
