Scattered storms dotted the East Texas map on Saturday afternoon and evening. Most of those storms provided brief heavy downpours and quite a few lightning strikes, however, a cell that moved through Polk County produced a short-lived tornado.

Today in Lufkin and Nacogdoches we have the chance of heavy rain with embedded thunderstorms, but the situation doesn't appear to be anything like what North Texas saw last night.

Flipped on the Weather Channel last night to see when the next 3 inches of "partly cloudy" was forecast for. Instead, I witnessed six men, teamed in pairs, all in different parts of the country (although every scene looked like Kansas) chasing storms! Not any storms mind you. Most specifically - tornadoes!
