Today celebrates one of my favorite hobbies, video games. National Video Game Day is the unofficial holiday to celebrate our favorite games, old or new. My love of video games started like many others, with the Nintendo Entertainment System in the 80's. I still remember that Christmas morning when me and my sister opened our system.

I still own it thanks to my mom and dad finding it in the back of their closet a couple of years ago. Since, I've been collecting my favorite games for the system or finding ones that I never played before.

This is a Facebook Live video from a couple of weeks ago of me playing Hogan's Alley on the original Nintendo:

From there I graduated to the Sega Genesis then to the PlayStation. I've been a PlayStation fanboy ever since. I've currently working on collecting games for the PlayStation 1, 2 and 3. I'm hoping the rumors are true that the PlayStation 5 will be backwards compatible with the PlayStation 1, 2 and 3. That would be awesome to have one system for all of it. Fingers crossed.

But really I don't need a holiday to play video games, I play at once a day. Currently I am almost finished with my first play through of Persona 5 and also about 45 percent complete with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

March 3 of 2020 is a date I have circled on my calendar, the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Final Fantasy 7, and 10, are my all time favorite games. I'm super excited for that release.

Happy gaming friends.
