Yes, I know that NCAA basketball is still right in the middle of March Madness. Yes, I know that we are still in the middle of the NBA season. Trust me, since basketball is my favorite, I'm not rushing these things.

However, I can't breeze over the fact that we are right around the corner from baseball season - specifically, the MLB Opening Day.

Opening day this year will be the earliest in history, starting on Thursday, March 29th. There are 15 matchups that will take place on that Thursday, including a game between BOTH Texas teams.

That's right, the Texas Rangers will be hosting the defending champions, the Houston Astros. That game will kick off at 2:30 PM, and - just in case you can't make it to Arlington to see the showdown in-person - it will be broadcast on ESPN.

Then, once that game is over, you can keep watching to see East Texas' very own Brandon Belt and the San Francisco Giants take on the Los Angeles Dodgers, which is also going to be on ESPN, starting at 6:00 PM.

So, get your MLB gear out, and get ready for baseball season, because it's right here. And, as usual, Texas is going to be well represented for opening day.
