If you've been out to Lois Jackson Park in Longview today you may have noticed two, quite intricate, chalk drawings on the sidewalks there. But who crafted the elaborate art work?

KLTV's Jamey Boyum went to the park to get a closer look at the colorful art. No word on who the artist is, or if they will be out canvasing other parts of East Texas, but if I may be so bold, I think we'd all like it if they did.

If you'd like to see it in person, Lois Jackson Park is at 200 Bill Owens Pkwy. Get out there tonight though as we are looking at rain tomorrow -- and when rain and chalk duke it out, rain always wins.

UPDATE: Artist Joshua Hinson aka Lakey is the one we can thank for decorating our city. According to Lakey's Facebook page he has "lived everywhere from beach side, to back woods, to big city, from foster care, to homelessness, to high rise apartments, and now, traveling artist."

"Lakey drew daily as a child but stopped after grade school and didn't really revisit it until he turned 22 in '09. Now Lakey has over 100 pieces mostly ranging from 20 to 60 hours apiece and has traveled just under 20,000 through the US just off of his street art."
