The xXx movies are the kind of wild combination of genres that only an actor like Vin Diesel would dream up: An extreme sports aficionado who is good at every sport is tapped by the U.S. government to become a secret agent, goes on missions, and rides every single type of vehicle in locations they have business being ridden in, like, for example, skiing down a jungle mountainside with no snow in sight. They’re truly dumb and delightful movies, and thanks to a new deal that sees Diesel as one of the owners of the franchise, we’re getting another one.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Diesel and his One Race Films have made a deal with The H Collective, a film financing and production company, to buy the xXx series from Revolution Films. And, now that Diesel is one of the co-owners, of course that means we’re getting an xXx 4, which is beginning production under returning director D.J. Caruso this winter.

The official summary of xXx the 4th on The H Collective’s website reads: “Xander Cage and his team are on a new mission to transport a deadly biological weapon before it falls into the hands of their enemies.” Sounds like business as usual. Ruby Rose is also reprising her role from xXx 3: Return of Xander Cage. The film will start production in December.
