I'm always on the lookout for things changing up in the area - renovations, demolition, rebuilding, all of the things. I do this especially when it's happening on my normal commute route. Well, it just so happens that there is a rather big renovation going on, and no I'm not talking about the interstate project...

This renovation is taking place at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on University Drive in Nacogdoches. I saw where they were changing the look of the gas station awning and structures, but I figured that was all that would be worked on. Boy was I wrong. They actually repainted the whole building - the larger, main building, not just the gas station. I don't think that's all that is being done, though.

Are More Renovations Being Done?

If you pull into the parking lot, there are tons of shipping containers for storage, outdoor temporary breakrooms, temporary restrooms, and more. This is directly in front of the building:

So, those are the temporary structures. There are also these signs hanging up on the fences around the shipping containers:

According to them, "A better Walmart is coming soon..." I still have no idea what this means. I also don't know what "improvements and updates" they're referring to.

Does Anyone Have Insight on this Renovation Project?

As I've said, I don't know what all renovations are being done, other than the painting outside, and based on the amount of items in and around the parking lot, there has to be a much larger renovation going on. There's just too much stuff to only be a painting project - at least, in my opinion.

Do any of you have some details on this project? Let me know!
