If you have been outside in the late night or early morning hours over the past few days you might have noticed that the moon is very close and very full. Earlier today (Wednesday, February 16th, 2022) would have been the perfect chance to get a sneak peek of the snow moon if It had been slightly less cloudy.

This morning was a great break from the cold mornings we have been experiencing. Hopefully, you got a chance to get outside and enjoy it.

A storm system is scheduled to move into our area tomorrow morning, and rain chances have already started to tick up. It's partly cloudy with some sun right now, but will it last?

The Full Snow Moon or Storm Moon Will Be At Its Peak Tonight in East Texas

According to space.com the snow moon will be at its peak in our area at 10:57 p.m. tonight. A few planets will be making a grand appearance tonight as well.

Look for Venus, Mars, and Mercury to make a big showing. Jupiter will also make a quick appearance before sunset tonight.

All of this could be obstructed by cloud cover that we are expecting in our area ahead of tomorrow morning's 80% chance of rain at around 6 am. The rest of the week is set to be sunny, so it won't be at its peak, but the views should be great when the clouds are gone.

If you get any great local pictures of the snow moon event, feel free to send them to me at danpatrick@townsquaremedia.com and I will share them with everyone.
