Lufkin is moving ahead with plans to bring the meat packing plant, Holmes Smokehouse, to the city.

About a hundred and fifty new jobs will be added and the company will get an incentive package from the city.  Holmes Smokehouse will move into a plant that has been sitting idle, and will become the second facility in Texas that the company will use to create its products.  The other is in Burton.

KTRE reports there are other additions planned soon in Lufkin, like a new Panda Express and continued work on the 59 Flyover.  All of it is expected to be good for the local economy.
