Alice Cooper To Receive Golden God Award

The third annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards take place tonight in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theater. Artists including Alice Cooper, who will receive the Golden God award; Motley Crue and even William Shatner  will be among those honored at the ceremony.

According to Alice, this isn't your run-of-the-mill awards show.  "When you come to this party, it's not the Grammys.  It is rock and roll all the way.  If you get up there and you're wimpy, they'll kill you!", said Alice.  For his part, Sebastian Bach praised the Golden Gods because all of the winners are picked by the fans, noting that most other award shows "seem to be, like, a music industry event where music industry people get together and pat themselves on the back for their latest signing."

Motley Crue will also be honored by getting the Ronnie James Dio Life Time Achievement award.

They are going to air the awards ceremony on VH1 Classic on May 28th.
