When I was 11 years old, I begged my parents to send me to the Jim Lefebvre baseball camp, because as a "diamond" enthusiast, and second baseman in my local Little League, I just knew that with some extra guidance, my career as a major leaguer would be fulfilled.

After washing out in high school athletics, my parents thought it best I pursue another career, and since the only song I could play on the violin was Mary Had a Little Lamb, choices around my 15th birthday seemed slim pickins'.

The moral to this story is "you gotta go after at least one dream in your lifetime", no matter how illogical it seems.  Besides, you don't ever want to say to yourself "what if...".

December 27 and 28 at Lufkin's youth baseball facility at Morris Frank Park, will be the site for the 2012 Holiday Baseball Camp for 8 to 18 years old.

The nine hours of instruction will be taught by Chris Smith, a former coach at both Loyola Marymount and Cal State Fullerton in California, and current scout for the Cleveland Indians.
