There will be a fan bus heading to Waco on Saturday morning – it will leave from Lufkin High School at 9:00 a.m. and return to Lufkin around 8:00p.m. on Saturday night (pending the game time).  You can purchase your ticket for the bus at the Lufkin Transportation building (next to Big Lots on Timberland drive) along with tickets to the game. You can also call them at 936-635-6270 for more information about the fan bus.

It’s High School Football Playoff time again and the Lufkin Panthers have secured their spot in the the District 14-5 A competition. They’re in a 3-way tie for first place in their division with The Woodlands and A & M Consolidated.  They will play Spring Dekaney on Friday, November 16 at Sam Houston State.

The Panthers have enjoyed a winning season with the new Head Coach Todd Quick despite the loss of their head Coach John Outlaw last Christmas.  They finish regular seaon play with a record of 7-3.  The playoff game will be broadcast next Friday night on KICKS 105, so be sure to listen if you can’t be in the stands and root for the Panthers as they travel to Sam Houston State.

Every year, thousands of young women try out to become a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader.  Most of these ladies are in their 20′s and late teens, perhaps a few in their early 30′s, but Sharon Simmons of Carrollton, Texas is trying to raise the bar.

Simmons is almost 56 and a proud grandmother.

As we’ve been mentioning, Peter Frampton has been honoring the 35th anniversary of his album, ‘Frampton Comes Alive’, by playing it in it’s entirety along with other highlights from the rest of his Grammy winning career while on his ‘Frampton Comes Alive! 35 Tour’.  On Friday, June 17th, he played at the legendary Beacon Theater in New York and our very own night man, Eddie Webb, and his crew was at the show to get all these great photos and videos!  It looks like an awesome show, in my opinion!  If you can, I highly recommend going to see him in October when he comes to Texas.
