The list of the Most Endangered Places in Texas is out, and a Nacogdoches home is on it.

Preservation Texas.org released the list this week, and Nac's Clay House is on the 11th annual list.

The Preservation Texas website says being named to the endangered list can actually be a positive thing, if there can be an economic impact for the area through preservation.

The Clay House in Nacogdoches was built in 1905; probably designed by local architect Diedrich Rulfs, according to those behind the Endangered List.  The house has lost its original porch over the years, but is still known for its architecture and history.  It was built for Charlie Clay and his family, and if it were to be turned into a museum, Preservation Texas says it would need several renovations first.  Money would need to be raised to rebuild the foundation, fix failing structural systems, install a permanent roof and touch up damaged or missing architecture.

There are several sites that made the Most Endangered List, and you can read the article HERE.
