Pit Bulls Seized in East Texas After Reports of Dog Fighting

The SPCA has sixteen dogs in its custody today after they were seized from a home in Gregg County.  The story has made the news as far away as Houston.

Police received reports of dog fighting at a home near Longview, and seized sixteen pit bulls.  From what we’ve gathered, the dogs weren’t in very good shape; thin with lacerations and they were chained up in the yard.

The investigation is underway now, but so far no charges have been filed.  There is a hearing coming up next week to decide where the dogs will stay as the investigation continues.
