Johnny Manziel is an East Texas boy, born December 6th 1992 in Tyler.  And then of course he had the great high school football career in the Hill Country at Kerrville Tivy High, and then came back to East Texas to get everybody's attention as the Texas A&M QB and win the Heisman.  Think he'll be an NFL star?

Johnny Manziel hasn't started a game yet for the Cleveland Browns yet this season, but he had the number one-selling jersey in the NFL for a time, and he's got a girlfriend that's garnering some attention.  Even if he never takes a snap, it's still a good season!

So, if you're anything like me you gave up on the Cowboys in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Rams.  It was 21-0 and the Rams looked like they were the boss!  I thought it was going to be another one of those crazy turnover-ridden Cowboy games that frustrates fans and makes us want to drown our sorrows in more chicken wings and beer, but the Cowboys got it together and tied a record

This is a huge weekend for football fans. It's opening weekend for the NFL (after last night's kickoff between the Packers and Seahawks), there are big college games already and it's only the second week of the season, and just cuz!  Football fans don't need huge games to sit in the recliner and enjoy a bucket of wings.  We just love football.

After a less than scintillating performance in the season opener against the Seahawks, Aaron Rodgers may want to think about pumping up some more.

Anyone else ready for the NFL season to start?  Every time our favorite teams win a preseason game we're convinced our team is great and in good shape for the regular season.  If they lose a preseason game we say, "oh well, it's just the preseason!"
