Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Unlike one artist being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday night, the the Faces / Small Faces are embracing the honor. Sometime today (Friday, April 13) the rockers will rehearse the three songs they’ll play at the ceremony the next night, although it’s anyone’s guess which three songs that will be.

You don’t often hear of artists refusing to be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, but Axl Rose, who did just that with a much-publicized open letter yesterday, is not the first to turn up his nose at this exclusive offer.

In the harrowing saga regarding the on-again, off-again induction of Guns N’ Roses into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at this weekend’s ceremony, the Hall of Fame has cast the final word, at least for now.

Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Beastie Boys are among the acts to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.  Donovan, Laura Nyro and The Small Faces/Faces have also been named as inductees.

Passengers on board the recent Kiss Kruise had a chance to lob a few questions at the legendary band’s manager last month, and inevitably their exclusion from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame came up. Doc McGhee didn’t dance around the subject. If the band is nominated for 2013 it won’t be because he’s saying all the right things.

We'll see more guitars and rocks stars this week on American Idol. Jeff Beck will appear on American Idol Wednesday, accompanying the nine remaining contestants.
