Few things kill a day's productivity for us more than a new update from one of the Angry Birds games. So as rock fans, we were thrilled to get a bit of a surprise today (March 7) when we saw that the latest version of Angry Birds Space features Slash, whom creators Rovio branded an 'honorary Angry Bird' in the update's notes.

Fear the top hat, Slash is back! The legendary former Velvet Revolver and Slash’s Snakepit guitarist announced the May 22 release of his second studio album, ‘Apocalyptic Love’ on his own Dik Hayd International label.

The album comes shortly after the April 14 induction of his first band, Guns N’ Roses, into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, at which all five original members are expected to be in attendance.

A year ago, Slash was in Texas rocking out with pop stars the Black Eyed Peas and Usher as part of the Super Bowl XLV halftime show.

This past weekend, he was a good 2,000-plus miles away from Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis — and for good reason. The former Guns N’ Roses guitarist was in Los Angeles wrapping up his second solo studio album, which is slated for a May 22 release on Slash’s own Dik Hayd International imprint.

It's been no secret that Axl Rose and Slash haven't been too chummy over the years. But if Guns N Roses would be inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, they'd probably need to perform together at the induction ceremony. Would it happen? We suppose that depends on who you ask.

It’s not too soon to add this one to his impressive list: Playing guitar during actor Charlie Sheen’s Comedy Central roast, which will air Sept. 19 at 10 p.m. ET.
