Could you imagine driving on a highway and seeing an airplane about to land on top of you?

It happened in Friday rush hour traffic on a highway in Arlington, between Dallas and Fort Worth.  And now the story has made it all the way to USA Today.

The pilot said he felt the engine lose pressure, and he had no choice but to land the plane on the closest thing that resembled a runway.  That turned out to be US 287 in Arlington just before 5pm on Friday.

The plane did hit one vehicle and that driver was taken to the hospital, but wasn't seriously hurt.  And the pilot of the Cessna was okay too.

It had to be a scary sight watching the plane land with cars nearby, but it's one of those stories that could have been much worse.  Do you think the pilot is a hero?
