Tommy Iommi of Black Sabbath has issued a statement now after the Birmingham Mail article that claimed he had plans for a new studio album and tour from the band's original lineup.  Should fans get their hopes up?In the message, Iommi doesn't deny that Sabbath is working together, but says his comments to the newspaper were two months old and weren't meant as an official announcement about a reunion.

"I'm saddened that a Birmingham journalist whom I trusted has chosen this point in time to take a conversation we had back in June and make it sound like we spoke yesterday about a Black Sabbath reunion," he says.   "Thanks to the Internet it's gone round the world as some sort of 'official' statement on my part, absolute nonsense.  I hope he's enjoyed his moment of glory, he won't have another at my expense."

Tommy apologized to Ozzy Osbourne and the other bandmates, and said he should have known better.

Don't ya remember....a few months ago Ozzy said he hadn't ruled out a Black Sabbath reunion.  Perhaps this is just the beginning, bubbling under of sorts, that could lead to something down the road.  That's speculation and not official of course!  Stay tuned.
