Amber Alert Issued for 2-Year-Old Girl from Center

The Center Police Department has activated the Deep East Texas Amber Alert Program as well as the Texas statewide Amber Alert Network.

At approximately 12:30 PM today (7/7/2020), 2-year-old Zamaya Ann Whitaker was abducted from her home on Arcadia Road in Center, Texas in Shelby County.  She is a white female with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Zamaya Whitaker was last seen in the area of County Road 1211, near Lake Pinkston in Shelby County, where her father is believed to have abandoned their vehicle. She was last known to be wearing a pink shirt and white shorts.  Her 2 front teeth are missing or damaged.

The child's father, Zenas Whitaker, is 27-years-old, 5-06 tall, 150 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.

According to the report, he was violent in the abduction of Zamaya Whitaker and her life is considered endangered.

The suspect may now be driving a blue Jeep Compass, license plate MDD4900
