Last year, a new event was hosted in Nacogdoches called Back the Blue Barbecue Drive-Thru. It was held to raise funds for the Nacogdoches Law Enforcement Foundation.

Since it was a success in its inaugural year, they're holding it again. The second annual Back the Blue Drive-Thru Barbecue Fundraiser will be held Thursday, May 14, 2026. It also serves as a reminder about National Police Week, which is happening during the same week!

Back the Blue Drive-Thru Barbecue Details

Like last year, this year's fundraiser will take place out at the Nacogdoches County Expo Center. Plates are $15 each and will include pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, chips, pickles, onions, cookie, and a drink. The meat is being donated and smoked by Brendyn's BBQ.

You will need to order ahead of time. According to the 2nd Annual Back the Blue Drive Thru BBQ Fundraiser Facebook event page, you have to order tickets beforehand in order to get your BBQ plates on May 14th. Tickets can be purchased at NACLEF.org/BBQ. Once you have your tickets, you can pick them up at the actual drive thru event on May 14th between 11AM and 1PM. Also, any orders with 10 or more plates get free delivery.

Where Will Funds from the Back the Blue Drive Thru Barbecue Fundraiser Be Used?

According to the Facebook event page, the funds raised from this event will once again go to the Nacogdoches Law Enforcement Foundation, and will continue to allow them to provide equipment, training, and more to law enforcement officers throughout Nacogdoches County.

So, if you haven't made plans for lunch on May 14th, you might want to look into getting some barbecue to help out with a good cause. Even if you already have plans, you can change them, right?
