There's nothing more American than baseball and apple pie, but Budweiser is doing its darnedest to make its way into the discussion.

The quintessential American beer -- which is actually now owned by Belgian company Anheuser-Busch InBev -- will temporarily change the labels on its packaging so that 12-ounce cans and bottles say "America" instead of "Budweiser."

The labels will tug on your patriotic side in other ways, too, including phrases like "E Pluribus Unum," "from the redwood forest to the Gulf stream waters this land was made for you and me" and "indivisible since 1776."

The promotion will begin right before Memorial Day on May 23 and continue right through the presidential election in November. It will run in tandem with a campaign dubbed "America Is in Your Hands." Look for commercials beginning June 1.

Creative packaging on drinks has sprouted up in recent years, most notably with Coke's "Share a Coke With..." campaign.
