By this time, y'all might be tired of seeing all of the posts online about Winter Storm Fern. Let's face it, it's the big news right now. I get it though, if you had damage from the storm, it might strike a nerve or two.

However, I finally got the chance to step out of the house and get a look at some of the after-effects of Fern. Keep in mind, we didn't have damage where we were - and I'm quite thankful for that - so we don't have the massive photos of trees on powerlines, busted water pipes, etc. Instead, I was able to get some pictures around our neck of the woods in Deep East Texas.

The Frozen Tower Garden

I was even able to get a quick video of me getting my first look of the frozen tower garden that my wife has in our back yard. Take a look:

Yeah, that thing was frozen solid. But the plants that were underneath the covering should be alright - according to my wife. She's the professional, so I'll take her word for it. (And for those of you wondering what's under the cover: It's got lettuce, cilantro, kale and broccoli).

At the end of the day, I realize that Winter Storm Fern could have been so much worse, and I'm just thankful that it wasn't all bad. Power stayed on, no damage happened here, and - for the most part - we were able to stay warm.

And, on top of it all, I got some pretty cool pictures. Check them out below:

Winter Storm Fern Photos in Deep East Texas

I was able to get out and get some photos of the aftermath of Winter Storm Fern. They weren't the hard-hitting photos of damage left behind like some people had to endure, but some pretty cool pictures of the ice brought on by the storm. Check it out!
