For my entire life, Nacogdoches has had two hospitals - Nacogdoches Medical Center and Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. Now, there's one hospital in Nacogdoches, with two campuses.

Nacogdoches Medical Center - South Campus Now Open

Recently, the NMC Health Network acquired Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. Now, what was once Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital is under the name Nacogdoches Medical Center South Campus, as of August 11th according to a press release from the NMC Health Network website.

You'll have to bear with me on this one, because I'm not real sure about all of the changes that this acquisition brings with it, as far as the technical side of things. Both hospital campuses are in operation, and they're going to stay that way.

What I do know is that the NMC Health Network didn't waste any time on getting the new signage up on the buildings around the newly named South Campus. Check this out:

Nacogdoches Medical Center - South Campus

On August 11, 2026, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital was changed to Nacogdoches Medical Center South Campus. All of the signage was changed over from Nacogdoches Memorial to NMC South Campus shortly after.

I didn't get pictures of the inside, but I did notice several changes to the interior of the hospital as well. Obviously, the changes weren't going to be limited to only the exterior of the building.

You might remember a post from back at the beginning of July about Nacogdoches Medical Center holding a massive hiring event to prepare for this change-over. Well, the change-over has now happened, and they've continued moving forward.

Again, I'm not real sure about all of the particulars that go along with this, but I do look forward to seeing what's next for not just the medical community in Nacogdoches, but for the Nacogdoches community as a whole.

One Last Look at the University Mall in Nacogdoches - 2019

I walked through the University Mall in Nacogdoches for the last time in 2019. Luckily, I snapped these pictures before I left.
