Clint Dempsey is definitely a hometown hero for Nacogdoches. And why not? He started in Nac - Yes, he's a Born In Nacogdoches B.I.N. - and from there went on to play soccer at the very top level, even becoming captain of the US Men's National Soccer Team and playing in the World Cup. He's also been inducted into the US National Soccer Hall of Fame. To say that Deep East Texas is proud of Clint Dempsey almost seems like an understatement.

Well, for those that aren't in Deep East Texas and aren't familiar with his story, they're about to get the chance to learn it. It was announced just a few days ago that Paramount+ is getting ready to release a docuseries on his life called, "You Don't Know Where I'm From, Dawg". Before you make fun of the title, you should know that it comes from an...let's call it an "altercation" that he had with another player, and that was what Clint told the guy in the middle of the match.

The docuseries announcement was actually made on CBS Sports Golazo, and it included the trailer for the docuseries. Check it out:

Pretty cool, right? This is a guy that was on the world stage, top of his game, and didn't shy away from his Nacogdoches upbringing.

When Will the Docuseries Be Available to Watch?

As of right now, I haven't found a definite release date for Clint's docuseries. All I know is that it will be on Paramount+ sometime this spring. So, it's still in the "Coming Soon" phase. I'm keeping an eye out to see when the actual release will be.

So, if you're a Deep East Texan, a Nacogdoches native, a soccer fan, or just enjoy hometown underdog stories, it sounds like this could be a series to look into. I know that I'm looking forward to it.
