Shalyn Cofer is Our Newest Deep East Texas Community Rockstar!

Last week, our Community Rockstar was someone who was doing lots of awesome things around Deep East Texas, including helping out at the local animal shelter. This week, our Community Rockstar is someone that's helping out children with special needs.

Meet Shalyn Cofer, Our Newest Community Rockstar

This week's Community Rockstar is a mom, but she's also looking out for lots of other kids in the area, too. According to the nomination that we received, Shalyn Cofer has started her very own non-profit. It's called, "Beyond the Diagnosis Foundation", and it focuses on families with disabled children. The purpose is to get those kids and their families access to resources that they need, as well as holding multiple events throughout the year.

They also mentioned that "She currently has an Adaptive Play with Lufkin Parks & Rec where disabled children can play safely every Monday for FREE!"

Because of her work in Deep East Texas, Shalyn has been named our latest Deep East Texas Community Rockstar. She will be receiving a framed certificate from our crew here at Classic Rock Q107 and Zion Auto Glass, and she will receive a gift certificate to Lone Star Charlie's.
