After what has become a nationwide news story, our local Lufkin, Texas bakery Confections is opening up again tomorrow. They have been working hard to keep up with the demand their products will see first thing tomorrow (6/08/21) when they open. They have put together some nice rainbow bows to sell, along with the cookies.

Their hours are Tuesday - Friday from 10am-5pm and Saturdays 11-2pm. You can guarantee that there will be a line out front again for some time. Just 4 days ago, this local favorite was plucked out of obscurity by just one post on facebook.

Confections lost followers on facebook because of a rainbow heart cookie they were featuring on their page. They also had a (5) dozen order canceled because of their support of the LGBTQA+ community.

A picture of the rainbow heart cookies wishing everyone a Happy Pride started it all. Letting them know they were welcome, along with anyone that loves cookies. It didn't take long for things to grow out of control.

I have seen stories from all over the web. Just google 'confections' and stories from all over the nation pop up...even before the definition. This is a text book 'going viral' situation. Though Confections is a very small bakery, they are having a huge impact in our community.

They are getting a lot of questions from people outside of our Deep East Texas area that want to support them, so I thought I would provide the answers. They do not currently ship any cookies, but that is likely to change very soon. They do have an instagram page, if you are interested look for sugarcookieart.

I have been following these very creative business owners and featuring them on the show, and on our stations website for years. Take a looks at some of our past stories. These guys aren't just a flash in the pan.
