Curbside Cafe Food Truck from Lufkin in 2018

Among the food trucks in the Deep East Texas area today, there are a few that focus on coffee service. In 2018, that wasn't the case. In fact, I can only remember one in our area that specialized in coffee. They stopped by the radio station just as they were getting their start.

Back in 2018 the Curbside Cafe food truck was just starting to make its rounds in the Deep East Texas area. They were based out of Lufkin, so most of their stops were in that area, but they did make runs to different places in the region as well.

Their big thing was coffee - regular drip coffee, espresso, etc. However, they did serve other things as well, including smoothies, teas, and they even had breakfast and lunch food items on their menu.

You could even get cold coffee from them that came out of a tap, like you'd normally get beer from at a bar. It was called nitro brew coffee because infused with nitrogen. It actually had froth like a beer, but it was coffee!

What Happened to Curbside Cafe?

Unfortunately, Curbside Cafe is no more. According to the Curbsidecafetx Facebook page that's still active, they permanently closed down on July 1, 2020, and were in the process of selling the truck to any interested buyers.

Like I said earlier, we now have more options when it comes to food trucks that serve coffee in our area. But the Curbside Cafe still sticks out in my mind. Take a look at some of the pictures that I still have of the truck when they came to the radio station:
