A few months ago, The Downtown Scoop made the video announcement that they were coming to Nacogdoches. You might remember this:

This weekend, during the Texas Blueberry Festival, I noticed that more steps have been taken towards making that a reality.

Construction Spotted at New Downtown Scoop Location in Nacogdoches

The new Downtown Scoop location is going to be on N. Church Street, where Milford's Barber Shop was previously located. As of right now, the windows and doors that led into Milford's have been completely removed, and they've been replaced by plywood boards and "See You Soon Nacogdoches" flyers that look like this:

So far, I haven't seen any projected opening dates for this new addition to Nacogdoches to open up. According to the Downtown Scoop Facebook page, the Nacogdoches location will be a second store, so they will be keeping their Lufkin location operating.

They are also continuing to post regularly about where the mobile ice cream trailer is going to be set up, so that's going to continue as well. This will be the third different location for the Downtown Scoop crew.

Multiple Choices for Frozen Treats in Downtown Nacogdoches

This is also going to be a fourth option for frozen treats in downtown Nac, alongside Susu's Fudge & Ice Cream Shop, Aperitivo Cafe & Gelato, and Dilly Dally Coffeehouse & Playground. If you can't find something cold and sweet to eat in the downtown area, you aren't looking at all...

What I know for sure is that the construction is underway for the new Downtown Scoop in Nacogdoches. I'm going to be keeping an eye on it to see when it opens for business.

Take a Tour of Susu's Popcorn & Candy Cafe in Downtown Nacogdoches

Susu's is a one-of-a-kind snack shop on the brick streets of Nacogdoches. I know that seeing someone else's pictures isn't the same as seeing the actual thing in person, but hopefully you get just a taste - Get it? Because it's a SNACK SHOP. It's alright, you can laugh there... - of what Susu's is like.
