The ADAC 2018 Reindeer Run is this Saturday - December 8th, 2018 at Ellen Trout Park in Lufkin. Early registration has ended, but you can register at their main office at 302 N. Raguet, in Lufkin or onsite at the race the day of the event. Cost is $5 more, but it all goes to a great cause, The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council of Deep East Texas. They provide substance abuse education, prevention services, problem identification & referral, and outpatient treatment programs in our area.

There are two races, a 1K fun run for the kids, and the full 5k. Both are open to everyone. Winners will be divided by age group. This is a fun family-oriented event, so  dogs and strollers are welcome. Various vendors will be there for you to check out before and after the races. There will be a limited amount of long sleeve t-shirts available for purchase the day of the race.

The course winds around around the trails in Ellen Trout Park. Be prepared for mixed media, as about half of the trail is not paved, but it's a nice even walking path in the woods. The city recently re-did it and it's super nice. Kick off the holiday season and support health and wellness in our community.
